NEW 212 JET TAKES NORTHWEST U.S.A. BY STORM
        -Brief Specifications-

Hamilton's newest jet for trailerable boats, the Model 212, has been favorably received, especially by builders and operators of tour and excursion boats in the Pacific northwest area of the U.S.A.

        LOCATION: Hells Canyon, Idaho, U.S.A.
        DATE: February, 1996
        CRAFT: 28' Bentz Jet Boat
        DRIVER: Darell Bentz

Intermountain Excursions' new 18 passenger tour boat was put to the test on an expedition through the spectacular rapids of Granite Creek. The 28' craft, powered by twin Hamilton Jet 212 waterjets with "Turbo" impellers, easily negotiated huge pressure waves and extensive whitewater without having to take the 351 Redline / Ford gas engines above 3000rpm. Bentz reports that the "Turbo" impellers didn't cavitate any more than the superseded 3-stage 773 jet in the worst of conditions in the canyon and had the added benefit of being quieter and capable of developing more thrust.

        The 212 Jet:
The 212 jet is a single stage unit for trailerable craft. Rigorous field testing, such as that described above, has shown the design to be so advanced that other jets, especially those of the older multi-stage configurations, may very well be obsolete. A recreational development of the 211 "commercial" jet, the 212 features integral intake protection screen, JT type steerable nozzle, optional mounting kits for close engine coupling and split-duct type reverse deflector with infinitely variable detent locking mechanism. The split duct deflector provides vastly superior reverse thrust capacity compared to outdated "clam-shell" designs.
