“Nellie’s Boy” is the latest in a guide and tour boat combination.
Vid and Dawna Dalosto of Hell’s Canyon Resort and Victor and Dawna’s Fishing Guide Service purchased their second Bentz Boat to accommodate their growing businesses. Designed to work as a guide boat during the fall and winter steelhead fishing and converted to a river tour boat during the summer season. The stepped seating layout was done so that passengers in rear rows had good visibility during sight seeing trips. During fishing season, one row of seats is removed and the other slid to the center to allow fishermen on either side of the boat. The sunken bow and bow railing allows and additional 2 fishermen safely up front.
The aft drivers station allows the operator to effectively guide all fishermen during their trips and watch all passengers during tours. The sled shaped bow and the short stroke mechanical stick steering all contribute to the superior handling that Bentz boats exhibit in extreme river operation. The delta pad bottom design brings the boat up on plane quickly and in very shallow water conditions.
